GRAPHIC HUNTERS PRESENTS:

Data Vandals 2-Day Workshop Exhibition!

Centraal Museum, Utrecht, the Netherlands.
August 4 & 5, 2025

This 2-day exhibition workshop turned everyday objects into data art provocations and performances. Participants from across Europe traveled to Utrecht, NL to create an exhibition focused on the relationship between the environment, technology, and city living.

Meeting as strangers on the first day and leaving as friends only 48 hours later -  we worked through the entire data design process: research, prototype, design, build, and present their projects at a public opening. What began as a gathering of unfamiliar faces evolved into a passionate collective, united around shared curiosity and inventive problem-solving.

Monday, Aug 4: We got to know each other with a fun icebreaker

Then broke into 3 groups:

Team Tile

This team focused on a campaign to reclaim paved spaces and turn them into gardens across NL.

Team Canal

This team focused on data above and below the water in the canals of Utrecht. The audience was asked to crawl under the table and knock at the ‘fish door’ to be let out.
Team Tile helping out on origami bridges!

Team Greenspace

This team created several approaches and projects focused on the benefits of green spaces.

Our artwork transforms data into experiences that invite curiosity and create conversations. We invite people to become active participants rather than passive observers.
