This history of the pushcart is deeply intertwined with the history of the city. As each immigant group settled in New York City street vending was how they first engaged with capitalism.

Pushcart Bandits is a sculpture and working souvenir stand covered in data about street vending in New York City. It takes inspiration from the pushcarts of yesteryear and the format of the modern pushcart - the Amazon delivery handtruck.

Mission statement:
Our society looks at the world through data, but data doesn’t have to live in a dusty database, it can come alive on city streets, galleries, museums and parks. The Data Vandals present data in interesting, exciting, and revolutionary new ways, stopping people in their tracks and making them want to learn more.
